A 12-year-old girl was found badly beaten-up and with no underwear on Tuesday morning at a secluded grassy area of Brgy.4 Basud, Malilipot, Albay.
The victim, found and declared by emergency responders as still alive, was immediately rushed to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital.
The victim’s head was found to have been critically hit.
According to the girl’s mother, her daughter asked permission to attend Simbang Gabi and left their house at around 3:30AM.
Initial investigation suggests that the victim may have been gang-raped by evil-minded suspects after she was seen walking alone on her way to the church.
Further investigation is being conducted by the police.
Authorities are reminding all parents not to allow their children, especially minors, to go out especially during wee hours.
