Martial Law extension, kailangan para mapulbos ang mga terorista – Calida
Iginiit ngayon ng office of the Solicitor General (SolGen) na nagpapatuloy pa rin ang rebelyon sa ilang bahagi ng Mindanao kahit malaya na mula sa mga teroristang naghasik ng kaguluhan ang Marawi City.
Ito ang reaksiyon ni Calida sa hirit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na palawigin pa ang batas militar.
Ayon kay Calida, may sapat na batayan ang pangulo sa kahiligang palawigin ang martial rule at ang pagsuspindi ng privilege of the writ of habeas corpus sa buong Mindanao.

Sa ngayon daw kasi ay bumubuong muli ang mga terorista ng grupo at nagre-recruit pa ang mga naiwang miyembro ng Maute-ISIS na nanguna sa paghahasik ng karahasan sa Marawi City noong Mayo 23 para muling umatake sa rehiyon.
Naniniwala naman si Calida na ang kahilingan ng commander in chief sa Kongreso ay suportado ng mga datos para mapalawig ang martial law ng isang taon.
Ang martial law sa Mindanao ay base na rin sa rekumendasyon ng Philippine National Police (PNP) at ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
“The President cited compelling reasons in his request to extend the proclamation of martial law, as well as the suspension of the privilege of the writ of habeas corpus, in the whole of Mindanao. According to Calida, the President deems it necessary to extend the proclamation in order to completely quell and put an end to the on-going rebellion in Mindanao. This request for further extension of martial law is amply supported by facts available to the President as Commander in Chief. The remnants of these rebel groups are currently regrouping and recruiting new members to sustain the on-going rebellion,” wika ni Calida.
