The suspected cousin of former Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary and Senator Mar Roxas has been nabbed by the members of Criminal and Investigation Group on May 16, 2018, for illegal drug trafficking.
According to the news posted by Barangay RU92.9 Kalibo, a local radio station in Aklan, Ineki was arrested after the authorities issued a search warrant in his house in Boracay.
They also claimed in the news report that Ineki is a relative of Mar Roxas.
The search warrant has been issued by RTC Branch one of Kalibo.
In the mugshot originally posted by the said local station, Ineki is using the name “Juan Ignacio Araneta y Llamas.”
He’s now facing case for the violation of R.A. 9165-CC No. 10141, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE DANGEROUS DRUGS ACT.
The former Interior secretary is not yet confirming if Ineki is his real relative.
Meanwhile, netizens questioned why the mainstream media didn’t write a news report about the arrest of Ineki Araneta.
“May 16 pa nahuli, pero wala sa mainstream media nag report? Ladies ang gentlemen, the power of the elites/oligarchs and the disentes!” A pro-Duterte Facebook page posted.
